It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of buying a new tree, but it’s important to remember that you’ll be living with the results for months. That’s why it’s important to choose a tree that will fit into your space during the holiday season, as well as throughout the year.
Here are some tips for choosing the perfect artificial Christmas tree height
- If you have a large room or are planning to place the tree in an open area, then you will want to choose a taller tree. Taller trees will also make it easier to decorate them well because there is more room on top than on smaller models. A good rule of thumb is to choose a full artificial Christmas tree that is about double the size of your space so that it looks balanced and larger than life. If you have small children or pets at home, then choose a shorter model because they won’t be able to climb on top of it easily and get hurt if they do fall off; plus, it’s easier to decorate with less branches at the bottom than at the top if you’re short on time.
- Measure the spaces where you’ll be setting up your Christmas tree. You want the base of your tree to be no more than two inches taller than your ceiling, but if you have low ceilings, then you can go as high as four inches above them. If there are any doorways that lead into areas where you’re going to be setting up your tree, such as a hallway leading into the living room, then make sure that they aren’t completely blocked by the height of your artificial Christmas tree.
- There are many different sizes of artificial Christmas trees available and they can range from 2 feet high all the way up to 12 feet high. The most popular sizes seem to fall between 6 feet and 8 feet high and this is because these heights tend to suit most uses and needs.
- If you want to use your artificial Christmas tree as a centerpiece, then we recommend looking at ones that are at least 7 feet tall or higher, as these allow plenty of room for decorations without them being hidden behind the branches. You can also get some tapers which can add up to 2-3 inches in height if needed for extra space above where people will be sitting or walking through
- If you’re looking for a tree to sit on an end table or other small space, choose one that’s 2 feet tall or less. If you plan to put your tree in front of a window, choose one that’s at least 6 feet tall so it doesn’t block your view. You can also opt for a tabletop tree that sits on top of a table or fireplace mantel. These smaller trees can be decorated with garlands and lights just like larger ones, and they’re easy to store away when they’re not needed anymore.
- Think about where you will put your artificial Christmas tree when it isn’t being used during the holidays. If you plan on keeping your full artificial Christmas tree out all year long then make sure that it won’t be too tall or wide for your space once December rolls around again.
